The file menu provied access to other HTML documents with its open function. To open another HTML document than that you are currently viewing choose the open item under the file menu menu and look for the HTML (*.html or *.htm) file you want to view instead. With HTMLHelp you can view any HTML document on your computer. After you choosed another document the old document is unloaded and the new document will be shown starting on top of its page. To go back to the document or page you viewed previously you can use the "Back" button. The "Back" button will always bring to the page you came from and each time you press it, you will go one page back in those pages you have visited. If you find a page interesting and you want to remember, use the bookmark function from the menu.
The file menu allows printing of the actual page on a printer connected to your computer. HTMLHELP tries to print your page on printer as close to the screen view as possible, but there are some restrictions. First on a black and white printer are no colors. The colors have to be replaced by appropiate gray scales. This mapping from colors to gray scales is done by your printer driver - perhaps it has some options to control the result.
You can select parts of the text of your HTML page with the mouse or keyboard. The copy item in the edit menu allows you to copy this selected text to the windows clipboard to be used by other applications, like Word etc.
The annotate menu item allows you to "stick" short comments on each page to the document. Whenever a page has such an annotation an additional button is shown on the button bar, whenever you press it you will be shown the annotations to the page you or another reader made to it.
The bookmark menu shows all bookmarks you defined and allows you to define your own bookmarks. For further details look at the bookmark section of this document.
The option menu provides some configuration options for the display of the view, choosing of fonts and colors. One interesting option is the "History" item showing a window with all pages you have been visited. For further details just look at the history section of this document.
The help menu allows you basically to view this document itself.
